Aftercare is an essential part of the tattoo process, and it’s important to take the time to properly care for your new tattoo so that it can heal properly and look its best. Proper aftercare includes cleaning the area with a mild soap and water, avoiding direct sunlight, and applying a thin layer of ointment or lotion to keep the area moist. It’s also important to avoid picking or scratching at the area as this can cause infection. With proper care, your tattoo should heal within two weeks.
